We have been working on coordinating a meal for the Bike & Build group that will be working with Habitat for Humanity in Ames in early July. More information on the route, schedule and the group is available here: http://www.bikeandbuild.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=39&Itemid=55
We have been assigned the evening meal on July 6th (monday). The meal will be at Brookside at 5:30 p.m. We are expecting 30 riders + some Habitat staff + some ABC people, probably about 50 people total. We will be providing a main meat dish (pork loin) and Wayne has volunteered to smoke this. We just need to fill in the details with several side dishes from ABC members. I realize this is right after the July 4th holiday weekend, so hopefully you'll have one more picnic/potluck dish in your repertoire!
If you volunteer to bring a dish, please have it at Brookside no later than 5:15 p.m. on July 6th. It may also be possible to arrange a drop-off/pickup earlier in the day. There are also options for supplying things like plates/silverware, chips, etc. that don't require advance preparation.
Dietary restrictions: The leader of this Bike & Build group says the group contains a handful of vegetarians, and one person with numerous dietary restrictions who is aware she may not always be able to eat with the group. So it sounds like we just need to provide for the vegetarians.
Here is the link to the signup spreadsheet. Also feel free to add any categories/things you think are missing:
Thank you in advance for your help with this, and I look forward to some fun & fellowship with ABCers and the Bike & Build group.
